Vermillion Flycatcher
(Pyrocephalus rubinus)

One of the most vivid birds anywhere, male Vermillions are unmistakable (their female counterparts are less so, though also handsome). They are widespread in the southwest. This shot was taken in southeastern Arizona in January 2004
